Correction to PPE information for therapeutic radiographers

26 March, 2020

There was incorrect content included in the Personal Protective Equipment information published by the Society yesterday (25 March).

The following paragraph has been deleted because there is insufficient evidence to support it:

Radiotherapy radiographers need to be particularly careful with regard to those patients with lung cancer whose chest symptoms may disguise possible Covid-19 symptoms. The SoR advice is that PPE should be worn when treating these patients.

The Society apologises for the error and will continue to update PPE and other Covid-19 guidance to support therapeutic radiography staff as it becomes available.

The SCoR recommends following the government's Guidance for infection prevention and control in healthcare settings.
