Consultant radiographer survey results published

Most diagnostic radiographer consultants (66%) work in breast imaging according to a survey carried out by the Society of trainee consultant and consultant radiographer practitioners.

The results have been published in a 22-page report, which identifies the scope of practice and pay banding and explores factors associated with consultant practice.

There was a response rate of 97 trainee consultant and consultant radiographer practitioners.

Notable findings include:

  • 52 out of 97 predict they will retire in the next 12 years
  • 48% of consultants are employed at pay band AfC level 8b and the most common training post banding was AfC level 8a
