The current business and clinical development manager at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre (CCC) has been appointed to the post of chief allied health professions officer at the trust.

Linda Williams, who qualified in the 1980s and worked as a diagnostic radiographer until 2002 when she moved to an academic role, will initially work as CAHPO one day a week, alongside Clatterbridge's director of nursing and policy, Sheila Lloyd.

Linda will develop an AHP Forward Plan with colleagues, strengthen the AHP Forum, and provide progress reports to directors and governors.

“It is a great privilege and I am honoured and proud to be appointed the first chief AHP for Clatterbridge and represent my colleagues," Linda said. "The trust is one of the few that has recognised this important role and how AHPs can lead change and be effective leaders."

Linda added, “Having this senior voice will demonstrate the contribution of AHPs and ensure they are represented effectively at all levels. The role has a strategic focus and will harness the AHP workforce’s potential for system redesign and enhance their value.”

Linda initially worked at Walton Hospital after she qualified and went on to senior radiographer roles and to be a clinical tutor at Wirral Hospital. She was lecturer practitioner and then lead tutor for clinical education at Bangor University, was appointed radiology services manager at Countess of Chester Hospital, and moved to Clatterbridge in 2016.
