The Chief Allied Health Professions Office for NHS England, Suzanne Rastrick, has been awarded the Order of the British Empire in the 2019 Queen's Birthday Honours List.

Given for services to the Allied Health Professions, the OBE has been widely acclaimed by AHPs, including radiographers.

The Society's chief executive officer, Richard Evans, said, "Recognition of Suzanne's work for AHPs is well deserved. The Society and College are particularly honoured because Suzanne is delivering the Stanley Melville Lecture at the UKIO Congress."

After learning of the award, Suzanne, an avid user of Twitter (@SuzanneRastrick) tweeted, "I am deeply honoured to be awarded an OBE. Dedicating this award to the achievements of the community of AHPs in England, whom I am incredibly proud to serve & also to my dear husband Rob."

Suzanne has held the CAHPO role for almost five years. She qualified as an occupational therapist and began her career in the acute hospital sector, moving to practice in community and primary care.

She was one of the first allied health professionals to hold a director of nursing post. She was also the chief executive of a primary care trust cluster.

Suzanne has seats on the NHS Employers Policy Board, Health Education England AHP Advisory Group, and the England Centre for Practice Development National Advisory Board.
